Awards
The PCSS has been the recipient of numerous awards, most recently the 2002, 2003 and 2005, 2008 ASCAP awards for Adventuresome Programming, a 2005 Aaron Copland grant recognizing the organization’s dedication to American composers, and the prestigious NEA “Challenge America” grant in 2004 and 2005, awarded to only one arts organization per county.  Most recently the PCSS received a Kresge Foundation and National Endowment for the Arts grants for annual support of our Fusion Festival, a weekend-long program celebrating musical diversity in Canton.  All PCSS concert programs are developed by nationally acclaimed Music Director and Conductor, Nan Washburn, and have involved successful collaborations with numerous community groups, including the Canton Cultural Commission, Canton Township, Canton Public Library, Plymouth Community Arts Council, Plymouth Historical Museum, Plymouth District Library, Music in the Park, Plymouth Downtown Development Authority,  Northville Parks and Recreation, and numerous music and service organizations.
